POST: LOANS OFFICER
JOB PURPOSE
- The Loans/Field Officer has the following responsibilities: Supervises a portfolio of 400 borrowing shareholders organized into Muungano groups of between 20-30 members each. Outreach and promotion of NCDA’s finance services/products, Carry out client training. Carry out client intake assessment/evaluation, Execute client organization and suspension of credit operation within the groups
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSILITIES
Groups formation and registration, Assist the KCM Muungano groups within the same area to meet. Facilitate the federation of these KCM groups to form a Muungano (20-30). Explain the rules and achieve consensus agreement on the rules (constitution) give an orientation to group members and the management committee on their roles and responsibilities (function). Assist in the elections of the group officials. Assist the KCM groups to open savings accounts in NCDA. Monitoring and support of activities, assist in organizing weekly/fortnightly Muungano group meetings. Attend the weekly/fortnightly meetings. Keep records of the Muungano consolidated
group activities by maintaining the Muungano consolidated register (banking, disbursements,
repayment schedules, attendance, fines, etc). Serve as source of information during group
meetings. Train group officials to develop, install and maintain group financial records including savings and loans procedures.
Facilitation and Monitoring of lending process assist KCM groups in opening accounts with NCDA
Train group members on how to: Conduct group meetings, take group minutes and maintain records, Open and operate an account with NCDA for mandatory savings. 20, Formulate group by-laws (constitution) assess loan application and other loan procedures, administer and manage member savings, interpret individual members’ records, assess members’ individual characters Interpret and operationalize the projects policies and procedures, Secure loans, Explain loan disbursement process, Prepare loan disbursement projections (budgets), Facilitate loan appraisals and approval, Facilitate loan disbursements, Follow-up loan repayments, Perform any other duties, assigned by the Supervisor.
QUALIFICATIONS
- ACADEMICS: KCSE C+, Certificate in business administration or credit management, Certificate in Community Development and Social work is an added advantage
- SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
At least 2 years’ experience in a related or similar role, Accounting knowledge, Computer literacy, Good report writing, Strong communication skills, Conflict resolution skills, Honesty and self-discipline, Customer care skills, Ability to meet deadlines, Team player, Ability to work with minimal supervision, Ability ride motorbike for field duties.
